Deal Shakr was a daily deal and promotion finder created in 2009 when group buying platforms was vastly popular.  Its general purpose was to provide users with localized deals using Google maps API. Not only was it an aggregator of different deal sites, but it provided a management tool that allowed businesses to administer their own promotions.
